HERBICIDAL DIACYL DERIVATIVES OF PROPYLENE DIAMINE

Novel herbicidal compounds are provided having formula (I), wherein one of R and R is a methyl, hydroxymethyl or monohalomethyl group and the other is hydrogen; R is a group R -(X )m- where X is a methylene, oxy or thio linkage, m is 0 or 1, and R is a substituted phenyl group of formula (A), where RA is a hydrogen, halogen or methyl group and RA is a halogen or halomethyl group; and R is an alpha -halo- or alpha , alpha -dihalo-(C1-3)alkyl group or a group having the formula -(X )n-R where X2 is a methylene, oxy or thio linkage, n is 0 or 1, and R5 is an optionally substituted five-member or six-member aromatic or heterocyclic ring. L'invention concerne de nouveaux composés herbicides de la formule (I). Un des R et R est un groupe méthyle, hydroxyméthyle ou monohalogénure de méthyle, l'autre étant hydrogène. R est un groupe R -(X )m-, X étant une liaison oxy ou thio-méthylène, m est égal à 0 ou 1, et R est un groupe phényle substitué de la formule, dans laquelle RA est un groupe hydrogène, halogène ou méthyle et RA est groupe halogène ou halogéno-méthyl; et R est un groupe alpha -halo- ou alpha , alpha -dihalo-(C1-3)alkyle ou un groupe de la formule -(X2)n-R , X étant une liaison oxy ou thio-méthylène, n égal à 0 ou 1, et R est un noyau aromatique ou hétérocyclique à cinq ou six chaînons éventuellement substitué.
