Die Erfindung betrifft eine strombegrenzende Kontaktanordnung, die eine Stromschiene (11) mit einem feststehenden Kontakt (111) und zwei Stromschleifen (117), die sich beidseitig neben der Mittelebene (XY) der Kontaktanordnung erstrecken, einen Kontaktarm mit einem beweglichen Kontakt, sowie eine Lichtbogenlöscheinrichtung (13) mit Löschblechen (131) enthält. Die Stromschleifen (117) erstrecken sich in Ebenen parallel zur Mittelebene (XY) und neben dem gesamten Öffnungsweg des beweglichen Kontaktes. Eine zweiteilige Kassette (15, 17) ist aus Isolierstoff vorgesehen, in deren Innenraum die Löschbleche (131) formschlüssig gehalten werden sowie der mit dem feststehenden Kontakt (111) verbundene Teil der Stromschiene (11) und der Kontaktarm reichen und an deren Aussenwänden die Stromschleifen (117) formschlüssig gehalten werden.
