Zusammenfassung:	A label for storing information includes a substrate having a pressure sensitive adhesive applied to one surface and a plurality of magnetic elements secured to the pressure sensitive adhesive which exhibit a detectable response upon the application of a magnetic field of a certain field strength with at least one of the magnetic elements providing a reference response. Also disclosed is a method of selectively encoding the magnetic elements. L'invention concerne une étiquette servant à stocker des informations qui comprend un substrat sur une surface duquel est appliqué un adhésif autocollant. Une pluralité d'éléments magnétiques sont fixés sur cet adhésif autocollant, lesquels éléments magnétiques émettent une réponse détectable lorsqu'on applique un champ magnétique d'une certaine intensité, au moins un des éléments magnétiques émettant une réponse de référence. L'invention concerne également une méthode permettant de coder de manière sélective ces éléments magnétiques.
