Zusammenfassung:	An auxiliary device for performing work above a user's head has a rod (16) with a mounting (19) for a tool. The auxiliary device comprises a waist support (10) to be fastened on the user's body at waist height and a rod holder (11) which is attached to or formed on the waist support. The tool mounting (19) is connected to a drive means (20) for displacing the tool mounting in the longitudinal direction of the rod. According to the invention, the drive means (20) is adapted to exert pressure upon the tool mounting (19) by substantially constant force in the direction away from the rod holder (11). This arrangement makes it possible to control the tool by the user holding his arms at waist height and breast height, and to provide the required upwardly directed even force with the aid of the drive means, thrust being taken up by the waist support. L'invention porte sur un dispositif auxiliaire permettant d'effectuer des travaux au-dessus de la tête et consistant en une perche (16) munie d'une fixation (19) pour outil. Le dispositif auxiliaire comprend un support (10) se fixant à la taille, et un porte-perche (11) attaché au support (10) ou en faisant partie. La fixation (19) pour outil est reliée à une commande (20) pouvant la déplacer dans le sens longitudinal. Selon l'invention la commande (20) peut exercer sur la fixation (19) une pression constante dans le sens opposé au porte-perche (11). Cette disposition permet à l'utilisateur de commander l'outil en élevant les bras à hauteur de la taille ou de la poitrine, et à fournir une force régulière dirigée vers le haut à l'aide de la commande, la poussée étant encaissée par le support (10).
