L'invention porte sur un procédé d'identification de composés modulant sélectivement l'expression de polypeptides essentiels pour la croissance et la survie du Candida albicans. Ladite méthode consiste: (a) à mettre en contact le composé à tester avec une ou plusieurs cellules de Candida albicans dont une molécule d'acide nucléique présente une mutation correspondant aux séquences des revendications 1 à 8, ladite mutation se traduisant par une surexpression ou une sousexpression desdits polypeptides, et ceci après avoir mis en contact une ou plusieurs cellules de Candida albicans de type sauvage avec ledit composé; et (b) à suivre la croissance et/ou l'activité de ladite cellule mutée par rapport à celle de la cellule de type sauvage, la différence de croissance ou d'activité de la ou des cellules de Candida albicans indiquant l'action sélective dudit composé sur ce polypeptide (ou un autre) selon un mode d'action identique ou parallèle.
