Zusammenfassung:	A nonwoven fabric having an average breaking length in each of the machine and the transverse directions at 5 % elongation of 4.0 km or longer and an air permeability of 0.2 to 10.0 cc/cm .sec; and a semipermeable-membrane support comprising the nonwoven fabric. The nonwoven fabric can be produced by using polyester-based fibers preferably having a birefringence ( DELTA n) of 0.170 or higher and a heat contraction stress at 200 DEG C of 0.10 to 0.60 g/d and heat-fusible binder fibers to form a web and hot-pressing it. On décrit un textile non tissé ayant une longueur de rupture moyenne dans chaque machine, qui présente les sens travers d'un allongement d'au moins 4,0 km à 5 %, et une perméabilité à l'air de 0,2 à 10,0 cc/m sec., un support pour membrane semi-perméable contenant ledit textile non tissé. Ce textile non tissé peut être produit au moyen de fibres à base de polyester ayant, de préférence, une biréfringence ( DELTA n) d'au moins 0,170, une contrainte de retrait thermique à 200 DEG C comprise entre 0,10 et 0,60 g/d, et de fibres de liage thermofusibles pour former une bande et soumettre celle-ci à un pressage à chaud.
