Avocado rootstock named 'Merensky 5'

A new avocado variety, 'Merensky 5' has high tolerance to salinity and to Phytophthora cinnamomi when used as a rootstock. 'Hass' trees grafted onto the 'Merensky 5' rootstock bear good yields.
