Zusammenfassung:	Particular embodiments disclose a first device associated with a user that may receive an indication that a second device of a second user of the online system is located within a proximity distance from the first device. The first device may store social-networking information associated with the first user comprising a social-networking connection between the first user and the second user. The first device may access the social-networking information and determine that the second device is a trusted device based on the social-networking connection between the first user and the second user. The first device may determine instructions to update a lock status of the first device based on the determination that the second device is a trusted device.
