Zusammenfassung: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a honeycomb filter exhibiting high thermal shock resistance even when the porosity of a honeycomb base material is increased and a partition wall is made thin and hardly causing destruction such as cracks and the like due to thermal stress in a portion not only near an outflow end surface but also near an inflow end surface.SOLUTION: A honeycomb filter is satisfied with equation (1): 0.714×WT+0.160≥t/CP≥0.163×A/B+0.105 (1) (where, the thermal expansion coefficient of a material composing a honeycomb base material at 300-600°C is expressed as A (×10/°C); the four-point bending strength of the material composing the honeycomb base material is expressed as B (MPa); the thickness of a thinnest portion at a portion separating the outlet seal cell 2a of a partition wall 1 each other is expressed as t (mm); the thickness of a portion separating the outlet seal cell 2a of the partition wall and an inlet seal cell 2b is expressed as WT (mm); and a center-to-center distance between an adjacent outlet seal cell 2a and an inlet seal cell 2b is expressed as CP (mm)).SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4 |
