Zusammenfassung:	Methods and systems are provided for preventing vehicle roll. In one embodiment, a method includes: determining a first switch state; determining a second switch state; evaluating the first switch state and the second switch state to determine whether a condition of a mechanical linkage between a range selection device and a transmission has occurred; and selectively generating at least one of a control signal to control an electronic park brake and a notification message based on the determination.
