Zusammenfassung:	A speed change device that transmits power input to an input shaft to an output shaft while changing a speed ratio to a plurality of speeds, the speed change device including: a planetary gear mechanism including a sun gear, a ring gear, and a carrier that rotatably supports a plurality of pinion gears, each of the plurality of pinion gears meshing with at least one of the sun gear and the ring gear; and a brake including a brake hub fixed to the carrier and a friction plate fitted to an outer circumference of the brake hub, the brake being capable of holding the carrier stationary to a case.
