A toner according to an embodiment includes toner particles containing a coloring agent, a binder resin, and a specific ester wax. The coloring agent contains at least one pigment (X) selected from C.I. Pigment Red 48, C.I. Pigment Red 48:1, C.I. Pigment Red 48:2, C.I. Pigment Red 48:3, C.I. Pigment Red 48:4, and C.I. Pigment Red 48:5, and C.I. Pigment Red 122 (Y), and the mass ratio of the component (X) to the component (Y) is as follows: X:Y=30:70 to 60:40.
