Cooperative communication system with adaptive packet retransmission strategy

The method involves transmitting packet data to recipient equipment (D) by a final relay (R) in a transmission (T2). The packet data is decoded by the recipient equipment in failure event (N3). A terminal source (S) and the recipient equipment are selected to retransmit the packet data to a destination terminal in another transmission (T3). Selection process is performed based on evaluation of reliability for the latter transmission of a transmission channel between the terminal source and the recipient equipment and the channel between the final relay and the recipient equipment. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a co-operative network (2) a recipient equipment for a co-operative network.
