Specifically, the invention pertains to a method for producing the corresponding amide compound from a nitrile compound in the presence of a biocatalyst having nitrile hydratase activity, wherein the method for producing an amide compound using a nitrile compound is characterized in that the zinc concentration of the nitrile compound is 0.4 ppm or less.
