Zusammenfassung:	In a vehicle control device for performing control to stop and start an engine according to a traveling state of a vehicle regardless of an operation of stopping and starting the engine by a driver, the stopping of the engine is limited based on a starting endurance ability of the engine. Thus, an endurance number of years of a starter can be ensured. If a contribution degree in improving a fuel economy by the stopping of the engine at the time of parking is high, the effect of improving the fuel economy can be suppressed from reducing by prohibiting the automatic stopping of the engine 4 during traveling. The effect of improving the fuel economy by stopping the engine can be enhanced by ensuring the endurance number of years of the starter.
