Zusammenfassung:	Provided herein are novel compounds based on xanthene, for example biarsenical compounds, which are useful as molecular probes. The compounds contain at least one isotope atom, such as a radioisotope atom. Methods for visualizing tetracysteine-tagged analyte molecules such as proteins using said compounds, methods for synthesizing said compounds, and methods for treating cancer or other hyperproliferative disorders using said compounds are also provided.
