| Zusammenfassung: | Novel dosing regimens for the treatment and prevention of bacterial infections using fusidic acid are described. The use of a high loading dose of fusidic acid, followed by moderate maintenance doses of the drug, have been found to prevent development of drug-resistant strains of bacteria, to increase the effective spectrum of the drug, and to avoid nausea and vomiting associated with a prolonged course of therapy of high amounts of the drug. |
