Zusammenfassung:A method of producing a retardation plate includes the steps of applying a solution containing a resin B and a solvent to an optical base material containing a resin A to obtain a laminate including an optical base material layer and an application layer, and stretching the laminate, in which one of the resin A and the resin B has positive alignment birefringence, and another one of the resin A and the resin B has negative alignment birefringence, and the stretching is performed by setting an amount of a residual solvent in the laminate to be 2 to 10% by weight.
