Zusammenfassung:	The water base ink for ink jet recording of the present invention is a water base ink for ink-jet recording containing a coloring agent, water, a penetrant, and a surfactant; wherein the penetrant includes diethylene glycol n-hexyl ether (A); the surfactant includes at least one surfactant (B) selected from the group consisting of alkyl sulfonate, alkylbenzene sulfonate, alkyl carboxylate, and polyoxyethylene alkyl ether sulfate; a weight ratio (B/A) of (B) with respect to (A) is not less than 0.10; and the (A) is contained in the ink in an amount of 1.0% by weight to 2.5% by weight.
