Zusammenfassung:	Disclosed herein is an information processing apparatus including a storage section for storing an AC adapter capacity identification information with which a rated power capacity of an AC adapter which can supply power to the apparatus can be identified, a first outputting section for outputting the above mentioned AC adapter capacity identification information, a setting section for setting a threshold value with which control of power consumption of the apparatus is to be started based on the output AC adapter capacity identification information, a detection section for detecting the power consumption, and a control section for controlling such that when the detected power consumption exceeds the threshold value, the power consumption may become equal to or lower than the threshold value.
