Zusammenfassung:	A switchable air intake system for a multicylinder internal combustion engine has at least one short and one long intake manifold whose cross sections are controllable by at least one regulating unit as a function of operating parameters (in particular the rotational speed of the internal combustion engine). The short intake manifold for a first cylinder bank row and the long intake manifold for a second cylinder bank row of the internal combustion engine, are controllable via a joint regulating unit ( 56, 58 ).
