Zusammenfassung:	A system and method is provided for constructing an internet e-mail add-on service system that can seamlessly operate on the conventional SMTP internet message transport network. The method and system make use of a recipient e-mail address extended by a domain suffix. The domain suffix portion specifies both the kind of e-mail add-on services to be applied and the intermediate mail relay server to perform the service on the message before delivery to the recipient.
