Zusammenfassung:A RIP( 20 ) calculates total line number of print data when converting original data to the print data. When a printer ( 30 ) is requested by the RIP to send a printed line number, the printer ( 30 ) detects the physical position of a print head ( 56 ) using a sensor ( 59 ) calculates a printed line number, and transmits the obtained printed line number to the RIP ( 20 ). The RIP ( 20 ) notifies a user of progress of print operations based on the total line number and the received printed line number.
