Zusammenfassung:	A vehicle seat has a horizontal safety bar which restricts the displacement of the occupant in the event of an accident. This bar is moved towards the occupant by means of an activating device in the event of an accident, following a certain activation trajectory, after which the bar is displaced in the opposite direction applying deceleration on a dissipation trajectory, the initial portion of which follows the final portion of the activation trajectory.
