Additionally, the invention relates to vectors comprising at least one stabilizing DNA segment in a 3'- or 5'-flanking region to the exogenous gene and methods for transforming plant cells. These stabilizing DNA segments include MAR, SAR, LCR, or LAR, HR and other repetitive elements.
