Zusammenfassung:An ablative recording element comprising a support having thereon a dye layer comprising a dye dispersed in a polymeric binder and solvent, the dye layer having an infrared-absorbing material associated therewith, and wherein the dye layer also contains dye-absorbing beads which can be: a) polymeric beads which are swellable in the solvent and which are covalently crosslinked to an extent which does not exceed 1x10-4 mole of crosslink per gram of polymer; or b) beads which have a porosity of at least 150 m2/gram.
