Date Nov. 14, 1996The present invention relates to a process for waterproofing leathers, furs and other fibrous materials wherein waterproofing is carried out with conventional water repellents in the presence of dispersing or stabilizing auxiliary agents at pH-values of 3.5 to 5. Alkoxy-groups-containing copolymers, synthetic or natural fatliquors and/or synthetic retanning agents (syntans) are preferably used as dispersing or stabilizing auxiliary agents.
