Zusammenfassung:An improved method is disclosed for the preparation of novel alkali metal diphosphinate salts by the reaction of an acetylenic compound with an alkali metal hypophosphite in the presence of a free radical source, the use of these novel compounds in further reactions to prepare diphosphonate compounds and diphosphinate containing adducts, oligomers and polymers and utilization of these compounds, polymers and oligomers to control calcium carbonate scale and mild steel corrosion in cooling water.
