Zusammenfassung:	An image forming apparatus uses a single motor to drive both a photosensitive drum and a polygonal mirror of a laser scanning unit, thereby reducing the size and cost of the image forming apparatus. In a preferred embodiment, the single motor provides rotational power to the photosensitive drum via a plurality of reduction gears, and further provides rotational power to the polygonal mirror of the laser scanning unit via belts and bevel gears.
