Zusammenfassung:	A synergistic pharmaceutical combination and composition are disclosed for the treatment of gastritis and peptic ulcer containing a therapeutic amount of a proton pump inhibitor such as e.g., omeprazole or lansoprazole, which increases intragastric pH, and a therapeutic amount of an acid degradable antibacterial compound such as a penicillin or a macrolide. In particular, the combination is directed to the treatment of infections caused by Helicobacter pylori by raising the bioavailability of acid degradable antibacterial compounds.
