Date Aug. 4, 1994A crystalline modification of 2,4-dioxo-6-methyl-1,2,3,4-tetrahydropyrimidine prepared by cooling a solution of 2,4-dioxo-6-methyl-1,2,3,4-tetrahydropyrimidine in water, an organic solvent or in a mixture thereof with a cooling agent at a rate not below 6 DEG C./min to crystallization followed by separation of the obtained crystals and drying them. The crystalline modification has high antiinflammatory and wound-healing activity and is an active substance in medicaments used for treatment of burns and wounds of various organs.
