Cyclopentadiene type compounds and method for making

New fluorenyl silane compounds and method for their production are disclosed. The fluorenyl compounds have the formula wherein Z is a substituted or unsubstituted fluorenyl radical and Z' is a substituted or unsubstituted cyclopentadienyl-type radical or a halogen.
