Zusammenfassung:The separation of oil from filter cake, such as a transformer filter cake, is achieved by contact mixing filter cake with protein additives in water for a sufficient time for substantially all the oil to be displaced from the filter cake, flushing displaced oil and filter medium with water in a separating device and collecting the oil and the filter medium separately. The separation occurs with little or no remediation of the oil taking place so that both the oil and the filter medium can be reused.
