To prevent the absorption of the retrogradely soluble crystal seeds by the hydrothermal growth solution at the start of growth or to protect the grown crystals on shutting down the growth process, and also to reach the thermodynamic growth equilibrium as rapidly as possible, it is proposed that the growth solution is digested outside the growth container (1), presaturated and preheated to a temperature near the saturation point, that the hot growth solution is introduced into the preheated growth container (1) containing crystal seeds for the actual growth process and is heated further to a temperature at which crystal growth starts, and also that the hot growth solution is rapidly removed from the growth container after the growth process has been terminated. ……
