Zusammenfassung: | An exterior rear view mirror for a motor vehicle has a housing (not shown) secured to an arm (22) which is pivotally connected to a bracket (18). In order to hold the arm (22) at a predetermined orientation relative to the bracket (18), a first pair of detent formations (78, 80) are formed on the arm (22) diametrically spaced on opposite sides of the pivot axis (40) and adapted to engage with a first pair of complementary formations (74, 76) on one face of a washer (60) located between the second support element (22) and the bracket means (18). A second pair of detent formations (70, 72) on the opposite face of the washer (60), diametrically spaced apart from one another relative to the pivot axis (40) and orientated at 90 DEG to the first pair of complementary formations (74, 76), are adapted to engage with a second pair of complementary formations (66, 68) on the bracket (18). |
