Zusammenfassung:A position detector to detect the fully open position of a valve gate pin in a gate valve controlling the flow of molten plastic material to a die cavity includes a sensing member which has a DC voltage impressed thereon and which is electrically isolated from the valve gate assembly. An extension of the valve gate pin contacts the sensing member when the valve gate pin is in its fully open position to short the impressed voltage and thereby indicate a fully open condition.
