Zusammenfassung:	3-Aminoallylidenemalononitrile compounds corresponding to the formula: wherein R1 is a short alkyl chain having 1 to 3 carbon atoms and R is a substituted or unsubstituted long alkyl chain greater than 10 carbon atoms, are useful in photography for absorbing ultraviolet radiations in the range from 360 to 400 nm, with no undesired absorption near 420 nm, when introduced in a photographic gelatin layer.
