Zusammenfassung:Thermal detectors 1 comprise at least one pair of membrane electrodes (3A, 3B) formed on a base material (2) such as a pyroelectric, semiconductive or insulating material, at least one member of said pair of electrodes being coated with a black membrane (4) of precious metal formed by an electyrolytic process. The detectors are highly sensitive because ot their excellent heat absorption efficiency and suffer little change in sensitivity over a wide wavelength range.
