Zusammenfassung:	Disclosed is an improved heated can roll of high thermal efficiency for web or sheet processing machines, such as a papermaking machine. The improved can roll has means for insulating the ends of the internally heated can rolls to provide a segmental heat insulating part spaced from the roll end or head to provide an air space adjacent to the head or roll ends, resulting in a large reduction in heat loss. Improved means for attaching the insulator assembly to the end faces of the can roll includes use of panel assembly bolts screwed into threaded bores provided within thickened bolt heads of the can roll head bolts.
