Zusammenfassung:	A method of making a spirally woven article (34) using a weaving starter (1) to facilitate starting the article is disclosed. The weaving starter (1) has a central opening (2), a plurality of secondary openings (4) and a plurality of notches (8) on its outer edge (5). The starter (1) is first covered by wrapping material extending through the central opening (2) after which a coiling material (10) is attached to the starter (1) by loops of the wrapping material (12) looped through the secondary openings (4). The wrapping material (12) is then used to loop together subsequent coils of the coiling material (10).
