Zusammenfassung:	A method for preparing 2-chloroethylsilanes which comprises reacting a vinylchlorosilane with hydrogen chloride in the presence of a catalyst consisting of at least one organoaluminum compound, or the product obtained from the in situ reaction of such an aluminum compound with at least one of the reactants. The catalyst may first be deactivated, if desired, by the addition of a liquid organopolysiloxane to the reaction mixture, prior to the distillation of the 2-chloroethylsilane.
