Zusammenfassung:	A disc drive apparatus for use in recording data on a flexible magnetic disc and/or reproducing data recorded on such a disc, has small dimensions and is capable of being manufactured at a low cost. This apparatus includes structures for preventing a disc and the read/write head from colliding when the disc is inserted into the apparatus. In addition, the apparatus permits two discs to be rotated simultaneously by one drive motor and one carriage carrying two head mechanisms is moved by one step motor.
