Zusammenfassung:	A method and apparatus for compensating for inaccuracy between a pair of aligned shafts attached to a slide assembly for a linear reciprocating carriage. This comprises pillow blocks mounted to the carriage and held in place by the use of intermeshing gibs. These gibs are so situated as to provide a tolerance between them, which permits the respective pillow blocks to move between the gibs to compensate for misalignment of the shafts.
