Zusammenfassung:	A fitting for establishing a sealed connection with a boss which fitting includes a concentric depression about the innermost portion of its boss engaging surface, which retains a backup ring of special cross-section by means of an inwardly facing circumferential surface therein, the ring, being constructed from material which creeps when subjected to force over an extended length of time, combining with the depression to control the deformation of an adjacent O-ring so that any gapping adjacent the O-ring is of insufficient size to allow extrusion thereof and seal failure.
