Zusammenfassung:	Polyesters of 1,2-bis(4-hydroxyphenyl)ethane and aromatic dicarboxylic acids exhibiting improved oxidation resistance are obtained by incorporating into the polyester, units derived from a bis(hydroxyphenyl)sulfide. In addition, the polyesters possess a combination of strength, processability, high temperature performance, resistance to burning, crystallinity and solvent resistance which makes them useful as molding resins, fibers and surface coatings.
