Zusammenfassung:	A tenon for mounting a lighting fixture to a support. The tenon has a cavity accessible through a removable cover, inside which a wiring splice can be made to join the wiring from the lighting fixture to other electrical circuitry wiring. The splice can be made and inspected at the tenon without removing the lighting fixture from the tenon or from the support. Means is also provided to mount the tenon to the support, and to mount the fixture to the tenon.
