Zusammenfassung:A directionally solidified casting comprising improved high temperature properties is provided having a cobalt-base matrix and consisting essentially of, on a weight basis, 10-20% nickel, 8.1-25% tungsten, 0-10% chromium, 10-23% tantalum, 0.1-1.5% carbon, the balance being cobalt. Embedded in the matrix is an aligned tantalum carbide reinforcing fibrous phase.
