Zusammenfassung:	The herein proposed fast nuclear reactor comprises a vessel, a liquid metal coolant filling said vessel, the side wall of which is cylindrical in shape and has its axis disposed in a horizontal plane. The vessel accommodates a core and heat exchangers with said liquid-metal coolant being passed therethrough by means of forced circulation thereof. The space above the coolant level is occupied by an inert gaseous medium, with the coolant contacting said medium in pipe branches penetrating the side wall of the vessel.
