1420170 Aminals BAYER AG 19 Dec 1973 [19 Dec 1972] 58841/73 Heading C2C The invention comprises aminals of general Formula (III) in which X5, X6, X7 and X8 represent nitrogen or X5 represents C-R3 and/or X6 represents C-R4 and/or X7 represents C-R5 and/or X8 represents C-R6 in which R3, R4, R5 and R6 are H, or a radical which does not react with tetraaminoethylene; or two adjacent radicals together with the carbon atoms to which they are attached form a fused ring; or represent the group (Z) in which R1 is an organic radical and R2 is a saturated or unsaturated alkylene bridge having up to 3 carbon atoms optionally substituted by one or more C 1 -C 8 alkyl groups, chlorine, NO 2 or CN and optionally having a fused benzene ring attached to it with the proviso that at least one of the groups R3, R4, R5 and R6 represents the group (Z) and when X7 is nitrogen or X7 and X8 together form a fused benzene ring only R5 and/or R6 can represent the group (Z). They may be prepared by reacting an aromatic heterocyclic compound containing at least one -NH group in a ring at - 20 to 200‹ C. with a tetraaminoethylene of Formula I in which R1 and R2 are as defined above.
