Zusammenfassung:	A dual hydrostatic drive is operated to provide the required demand horsepower of a particular ship and speed condition while maximizing the loading of the input prime mover. The dual drive for the ship is controlled by either a flow divider or by dual sliding cams. This extends the useful life and reduces the fuel consumption of the prime mover. The overall efficiency of the drive system is improved.
